Praise from our Guests

Majestic Mountain View

What a warm welcome at Floréal House. Bedroom was fabulous, breakfasts were delicious, complimentary sherry in the hall, and the staff are truly out of this world. They even arranged dinner on request one evening! Across the street there is a very pleasant little delicatessen with good cappuccino! And all this with magnificent Table Mountain as a backdrop.

All a Pleasure

Every time I visit Cape Town, I only stay at one guesthouse, Floréal House. You are always greeted with a smile by the polite and friendly staff. The rooms are neat and very comfortable. The cost for the stay is also very affordable and the best part must be that you are three minutes away from some of the best restaurants in Cape Town.

Fantastic Guest House

Stayed here for a week during a business and pleasure trip to South Africa. This is a fantastic hotel/guest house! It is a converted colonial-type house, with high ceilings, wood beams and a general airy feel. The rooms are huge and very luxurious. Some rooms (2 & 3) have amazing views out over Cape Town and Devil’s peak. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are cooked to order. I can think of no negative points about this place.

Perfect Guest House

This guesthouse is amazing! Such friendly people, who make your stay comfortable. Location at the foot of Table Mountain and a few minutes’ drive to the center. Great atmosphere, delicious breakfast. We really would come here again.

Activities in the Area

No visit to Cape Town would be complete without ascending the world renowned Table Mountain – voted one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature and part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Whether you hike up the mountain or use the cable way, the views from atop the mountain will ensure memories that last a lifetime. There is a restaurant with tourist facilities on the mountain, with paved walkways for easy exploration. Visitors can enjoy magnificent vistas of the city bowl, False Bay, the Atlantic Seaboard and Robben Island.

Explore Eclectic Cape Town CBD

As a world-class tourist destination, Cape Town’s city centre is filled with wonderful surprises and great discoveries waiting to be made – from the exquisite Company Gardens near the houses of parliament, to the curio stalls on Greenmarket Square, to the hodge-podge mix of restaurant, bars and clubs in Long Street, to the Grand Parade, Castle of Good Hope, the historic Bo-Kaap neughbourhood, to Sea Point Promenade – the City of Cape Town is a great place to explore. There are also a range of farmers and fresh good markets on various days of the week.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

Established in 1913 and covering 528 hectares on the eastern foot of Table Mountain, Kirstenbosch is one of nine National Botanical Gardens in South Africa and covers five of South Africa’s six biomes over a massive 528 hectares. Hugely popular with both local and international tourists, Kirstenbosch is a must-see attraction with the latest addition, the Tree Canopy Walkway (or Boomslang – Tree Snake), giving visitors an unparalled experience of seeing not on the gardens from the tree tops, but also vistas of the city.

Scenic Drive to Cape Point

Another favourite among visitors to Cape Town, a trip to Cape Point is another unforgettable experience. As part of the Table Mountain Nature Reserve, the Cape of Good Hope section is generally wild, unspoiled and undeveloped and a home to many wild animals – baboons, antelope, Eland (Africa’s largest antelope) and mountain Zebra as well as many endemic birds. Attractions worth visiting is the Two Oceans Restaurant, the three shops at Cape Point, the Flying Dutchman funicular and the many amazing beaches, swim spots and wrecks.

V&A Waterfront

The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is a major shopping and entertainment centre in Cape Town and features sweeping views of the Atlantics Ocean, Table Bay Harbour, the city itself and Table Mountain. Some of the best restaurants can be found at the Waterfront, as well as world-class shops, a cinema, boat rides, helicopter tours and some of the best hotels in Cape Town. The ferry to Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, also leaves from the Waterfront. The V&A Waterfront is one of the Premium destinations in South Africa.

Life’s a Beach

The Mother City has some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, seven of which enjoy Blue Flag status – Bikini Beach, Mnandi Beach, Strandfontein Beach, Llandudno Beach, Camps Bay Beach, Clifton 4th Beach and Silwerstroomstrand. Depending on the season you might even see dolphins, whales and seals. Situated in tourist hotspots, most of these beaches are close to shopping centres and town centres – after basking in the sun and frolicking in the waves, you can enjoy sundowners before experiencing the rest of what Cape Town has to offer.
